Let it Snow!

A has been asking to play in the snow for several weeks now. She has connected that it's become quite cold outside and therefore should have snow to play in. And it finally came! She had to get out early to shovel the snow before it likely melted. Later, B saw that it was still around and decided he too wanted to use his shovel (not necessarily play in the snow).

Sledding

When it's not so cold (low 30's) and there's still snow on the ground the Lewis' take to their hill. No tobaggan run this year, just the simple sled run. In other words, Taylor still felt it was too cold to venture out, so it was just Jacqie and the kids.
Benjamin even made a run by himself! And liked it!
Abie kept saying, "Slide! Again! My turn!"

Snow Update

Abie has had a couple introductions to snow. See previous blogs for more insight. Here was another attempt of Jacqie's to have her play in the snow:

Yes, didn't make it out the door until Jacqie had shoveled the porch and walkway. But she was so excited to put her snowsuit on!

Then the Lewis family took a trip to Starved Rock to see bald eagles (see the Nature section). While we were out in the snow covered ground she actually walked in it....and even touched it!

Then Taylor even had her throwing snowballs! Okay, so the balls went vertical instead of horizontal and she liked "jumping" with it.

Looks like this week's playgroup of sledding will be fun! That is if we have snow before then, it all melted last night.
