Twas the Night Before Christmas....
J, A & B were headed out to deliver a few cards and goodies to some neighbors..... 1st stop across the street. J pulled well into the driveway and warned the kids they might not be home and to bring the items back if no one answered.....she waited in the car, seatbelt and all. When what to her wondering ears should be heard? Some skidding of a car - certainly from the nearby curve of the road. As she turned to see what was the clatter....she never saw it, but was given a jar of a lifetime! Thankfully the kids were all safe on the porch as they watched the whole scene.... The drunk driver tried to drive off, but his car wouldn't let him. No insurance he has, now isn't that nice? The policeman arrested him shortly after arriving on scene. No blood was shed, but both cars were towed, Zuma may have seen it's last ride and no treats were shared. The Lewis' are now counting many blessings.....
The kids were at the door and not in the back seat (where the rear window shattered) or getting in or out of the car at the moment of impact
Zuma was hit just far enough back to not have injured J, and she was safely buckled in
The fireman neighbor and his family that stopped to assist before police arrived
It was only the car and not the van
Bauxko will lend it's delivery van back
The Lewis family still had an enjoyable Christmas despite the great drama of Christmas Eve cheer!
